ABOUT THE COURSE

The Alzheimer’s Disease & Dementia Care (ADDC) Seminar is the official training course required by the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners (NCCDP) to apply for the Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP®) credential. (www.nccdp.org)

This comprehensive, evidence-based course provides the foundation every professional needs to understand and support individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias.

Completion of this seminar fulfills the mandatory educational requirement for the CDP® application.

Course Overview The ADDC Seminar, taught by a Certified Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Care Trainer (CADDCT), covers:

  • Understanding dementia types and progression -Communication strategies and behavior interventions -Reducing anxiety, agitation, and wandering
  • Environmental design and safety
  • Cultural sensitivity and end-of-life care Who Should Attend
  • Healthcare professionals (nurses, CNAs, MAs, social workers, physical and occupational therapists, etc.)
  • Administrators and leadership teams in assisted living, memory care, home care, and hospice -First responders, chaplains, and community-based service providers
  • Anyone seeking to elevate dementia care quality and earn professional certification

ABOUT OUR PRESENTER

Stacey Dubowitch, MSHCA, CADDCT, CDP

Stacey is the Vice President of Community Outreach & Programs at Senior Resource Nevada.  Stacey's experience includes consulting and support to senior living organizations, provider groups, age tech and health tech organizations, and universities through research collaborations. Her focus includes improving dementia care practices, enhancing early detection and prevention strategies, and leveraging innovative technologies to benefit individuals with dementia. By bringing together expertise in healthcare, technology, research, and community engagement, she helps to create a comprehensive ecosystem that fosters a deeper understanding of dementia and improves the lives of those impacted.
