Module 4 – Understanding the Professional Landscape

Leadership in occupational therapy extends far beyond formal titles. Effective leaders understand how professional organizations function, how influence is developed across systems, and how authentic relationships sustain long-term engagement within the profession. This module explores organizational leadership structures in occupational therapy while helping participants identify their own pathways toward leadership, advocacy, mentorship, and professional visibility.

Participants will examine leadership opportunities at the state, national, and international levels, develop strategies for intentional networking and personal branding, and create actionable plans for cultivating meaningful professional relationships over time.
